Jeffery Sieg, 61, of Emerado, ND went home to his heavenly father due to natural causes on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Lewy Lee Fieldhouse at Mayville State University in Mayville, ND.
Jeffery R. Sieg was born November 17, 1957 in Grand Forks, ND to Raland and Darlyne (Griese) Sieg. He spent his childhood years at Emerado and graduated from Larimore High School. During high school, Jeff enjoyed playing football. He became an assistant football coach for the Larimore football team.
Jeff attended NDSU, graduating with a degree in Agricultural Management and went on and graduated from UND with an undergrad in Elementary Ed and a master’s degree in Education Leadership. Jeff spent a number of years teaching science at Emerado Middle School. He then moved on to teach at Mayville State University.
On October 15, 1994, Jeff married Joy Hillesland at Evangelical Free Church in Grand Forks, ND. They recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Jeff desired to learn new things. He was an avid reader. It seems like he always had a book in his hands. He would read westerns for fun or many different subjects just to learn something new. He was even caught with the dictionary in his hand looking up new words.
Jeff was a faithful reader of the bible. He came to know the Lord at a Billy Graham event. His grandma Mathilda and grandpa Herman were great influences for Jeff’s desire to follow the Lord’s teachings.
Jeff really enjoyed teaching and especially enjoyed getting to know his students. They brought much joy to his life. He had a lot of fun with them and he would give them nicknames.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Joy, of Emerado, ND; uncle and aunt, Norman and Ruby Sieg and their children, Larry and Peggy.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
"Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." John 3:3. Jeff's desire would be for you to read and heed the words of that scripture therefore insuring we would all be together again throughout eternity.
