Obituary

Jeanette Eide, 77, of Hatton, ND passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Bruflat Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Jeanette Stavedahl was born February 19, 1943 in Mayville, ND to Alfred and Orpha Hazel (Nelson) Stavedahl. She attended 1st -8th grade at Primerose #4 school in Portland. Jeanette went to the Portland school for 1 year, Clifford school for 2 years and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1962. After high school, she attended the Lutheran Bible Institute for half a year before returning home to work various babysitting jobs and to help on the farm.

Jeanette was active at Perry Lutheran Church for many years. She taught Sunday school for 20 or more years, was food chairman for over 20 years, was on church council, and was president of the ladies aid. She was also baptized and confirmed at Perry Lutheran Church.

On January 5, 1968, Jeanette married Allen Eide at Perry Lutheran Church in Portland. In 1974, they moved to a farm 12 miles southwest of Portland. They retired from farming in 1979 but continued to live on the farm.

The highlight of their lives was when they bought a motor home and started going camping. They enjoyed traveling and meeting new friends. Jeanette and Allen made trips to Federal Dam, where they fished, and to Glacier National Park in 1987 with friends.

Allen passed away in 1988 and Jeanette continued to live on the farm for 7 more years. She moved to Mayville, ND, where she worked as a Dietary Aid at Union Hospital for 6 years. Jeanette then moved to an apartment in Hatton for two years and then to Hatton Prairie Village, where she has resided for 11 years. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She also liked going to casinos.

Survivors include her sister, Sylvia Onerheim, Hatton; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Allen; nephew, Gary Onerheim, and brother, Jerome Stavedahl.

Jeanette had a very large, kind, and loving heart. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
