Yvonne Nordbo, 86, of Northwood, North Dakota died, Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Deaconess Health Center in Northwood.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2008 at Goose River Lutheran Church rural Hatton and burial will be in the Bethania Cemetery of rural Northwood.

Visitation will be at the Bilden Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service and one hour prior to services in the church.

Yvonne Mae Evenson was born April 24, 1922 in Primrose Township the youngest daughter and fifth of six children to Edward and Emma (Eide) Evenson. She was baptized on June 4, 1922 at Perry Lutheran Church of rural Portland, North Dakota and confirmed there on October 23, 1936 by Pastor Brudvig. She attended school at Primrose Township School #4 where she graduated from the 8th grade. Upon finishing school she worked at different homes and at Graffe's Grocery in Erie, North Dakota. On May 19, 1942 she was united in marriage to Orlando Clifford Maurseth at Port Orchard, Washington. They made their home in Lind Township, rural Northwood and they had two daughters Barbara and Beverly. Orlando died August 17, 1957. She then went to work at Olson's Hardware and Engen's Market in Northwood. In 1965-1966 she attended the University of North Dakota and took business courses. She then worked at Ostlie Oil in Northwood as a bookkeeper. On June 21, 1968 she was united in marriage to Olaf Nordbo and they made their home on the Nordbo Family farm. In October of 2008 she moved to the Deaconess Health Center.
She was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church or rural Northwood and Goose River Lutheran Church of rural Hatton. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Nordland Rosmalers Association, Ceramic Organiztion and the Sons of Norway.
Yvonne was an avid crafter and was known by many for her ceramic classes, rosmaling groups and creative activities. Most of all Yvonne loved her family and her children and grandchildren were always a priority.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Olaf, daughters, Barbara (Karl) Carlson of Nevis, Minnesota and Beverly (Richard) Kvamme of Park Rapids, Minnesota, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws, Irene Broseau of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Artha Travers of Grafton, North Dakota, brothers-in-law, Marvin (Ardelle) Nordbo of Fargo, North Dakota and Phillip Korsmo of Northwood, North Dakota, several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orlando; two infant daughters; sisters, Lavina Digness, Verna Pederson, Marjorie Evenson and Elaine Simle and brother, Ardell Evenson.

The Bilden Funeral Home of Northwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
