Wayne âPeteâ Peterson was born November 2, 1948, to Gordon and Ruth (Lockwood) Peterson in Valley City, North Dakota. Pete attended school in Hastings and Litchville, ND. Pete met the love of his life Diane Holden and they were married on August 19, 1965. Pete and Diane had three boys Chris, Duane and John. In 1968, they moved to Fargo.
As a family they all enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, camping, pinochle and riding motorcycle. The orange #36 stock car was a huge part of the Peterson family. Pete had an awesome sense of humor and loved to tease people. Everyone who knew Pete knew he loved to joke around.
Later in their lives, Pete and Diane really enjoyed spending time with family especially their grandkids Tanner, Maggie and Cody. Pete and Diane enjoyed all of their good friends they made in Northwood and spending time at the lake.
Pete worked as a baker for years then owned a landscaping company until purchasing the Brass Rail Bar and Grill in Northwood. After selling the Brass Rail Bar, Pete worked for Trans Systems.
Pete is survived by his sons: Chris Peterson, Duane (Susan) Peterson, John (Jackie) Peterson; grandkids: Tanner, Maggie, and Cody Peterson; siblings: Harvey, Anna Mae, John (Cindy), and Brian (Diane); and âadopted son,â Will.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Diane; parents, Gordon and Ruth; and brother, LeRoy.

Pete or "Pede" as I know him was the greatest second dad a girl could get. I remember many Friday nights at Minn-Kota racing in West Fargo sitting with Annie and cheering for our favorite race car driver #36. Memories of spending so much time with them until they moved to Northwood. Pete will be missed by myself and others. I know he is with Annie and they are watching over us.

Pete, the only thing that I won't miss about you is the time you put your "stinky" socks in my coat pocket and I didn't find them until I got home!! lots of good times with you and Diane. Our families made many memories together. Love you!

Remembering all the fun we had growing up together and our first race me in dads 49 chevy pickup and Wayne in his dads Hudson we were neck and neck all the way to Tri Corner. What a blast until the folks found out.
