Virgie Ann Tangen was born May 10, 1936 in Northwood, North Dakota the daughter of Alvin and Ida (Larson) Tangen. She was raised there and graduated from Northwood High School in 1954. She married Henry Sebekow in 1957 and she had a son, David. Virgie worked at several jobs in Northwood before becoming a Teller at Northwood State Bank (now Alerus Financial). For over thirty years, she cared for her customers with her own unique brand of customer service. Virgie was also a member of the Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church and served in its Ladies' Aide.

She will be in our hearts forever and will always be remembered with great love for being a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and special aunt to many nieces and nephews, especially Lori Rasmussen and Cheri Stallman, who were like daughters to here. Her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by family and loved ones. We will miss her terribly.

She is survived by her son, David, (Ginny) Sebekow, grandchildren, Julia, Maria and Alex Sebekow of Chanhassen, Minnesota; sisters, Opal Kelly of Portland, Oregon and Janice (Donald) Bilden of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ina Dokken and brothers, Glenn, Elton "Bud" and Don.

The Bilden Funeral Home of Northwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
