Terence "Terry" McNea

Terence “Terry” Milton McNea, 74, of Hatton, ND passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Sanford Mayville Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022  at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton, ND. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the church.

Terry was born on November 7, 1947 in Minot, ND, to Milton and Hazel (Johnson) McNea.  He attended various schools, graduating high school in Willow City, ND.  He attended Minot State University and completed his MBA at Rutgers University.  He worked for the FDIC for 11 years before moving into banking, with most of his professional career as President of Hatton Farmers & Merchants National Bank, retiring in 2008.

In 1966, Terry married Sheila Kuebler and together had 3 boys, Randy, Dan, and Chad.  In 1989 he married Julie (Balstad) Zimprich and welcomed 3 more children into his life, Corey, Mindy and Shaylee Zimprich.

Terry enjoyed anything to do with classic cars, golfing, spending winters in Arizona and visiting with friends.  His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and attending various activities and sporting events of his grandchildren.  He was their biggest fan.

Terry is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Randy (Beth) McNea, Fargo, ND, Dan McNea, Moorhead, MN, Chad (Beverly) McNea, Lisbon, ND, Corey (Gina) Zimprich, Hatton, ND, Mindy (Dennis) Carpenter, Hatton, ND, and Shaylee (Chad) Smith, LaPorte, MN; grandchildren, Jessica (AJ) Anderson, Casey Walsh, Jake Snyder, Peyton McNea, Jaden Zimprich, Kylie Carpenter, Ayden McNea, Derek Carpenter, Ashton Zimprich, Brayden Smith, and Avery Smith; one great grandchild, Lucian Anderson; sister Sheila (Burl) Schultz, Sierra Vista, AZ; brothers and sisters-in-law Marlin and Diane Balstad, John and Loretta Sherva, Denny and Linda Gabriel, Darold Mattern; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Sue Mattern; and nephew Kevin Sherva.
