Shirley Johnson

Shirley Ann (Loftus) Johnson, 71, of Northwood, ND passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her home in Northwood. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Northwood.

Shirley Loftus was born July 1st, 1944 to Vincent and Judith (Cerny) Loftus in Lodi, California. She grew up in Austin, Minnesota and Greeley, Colorado, where she graduated. On November 23rd, 1963, Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Johnson in Greeley, Colorado. They were stationed at air force bases which included Wyoming and Arkansas. They then settled in Northwood where she remained the rest of her life. Shirley was a housewife, did in-home daycare, sold Avon, and worked at the Northwood Deaconess Nursing Home. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Shirley enjoyed BINGO, knitting, dancing, fishing, babysitting grandchildren and getting together with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Johnson, Northwood, ND; children: Perry (Susie) Johnson, Northwood, ND; Dwight (Kim) Johnson, Northwood, ND; Shaun (Darrell) Hoogendoorn, Ireton, IA; Brothers and Sisters: Walt, Richard, Vincent, George, Judy, Della and their families; Grandchildren: Kally (Johnson) Anhorn, Tabitha Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Sarina (Johnson) Manthei, Cody Chester, Trish (Olson) Mikelson, Tonya Olson, Carley (Hoogendoorn) Anderson, Daley Hoogendoorn, Daniel Hoogendoorn; Great-grandchildren: Kiarra, Drayton, MaKenna, Mason, Mak, Lexus, Kael, and Adeline.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Vincent and Judith (Cerny) Loftus.

I just can't believe she is gone, will miss her and Robert coming down to the lake and playing mexican train. We had a lot of fun. I won't forget all the good times.
