Shirley Beck

Shirley Ann Beck, 85, of Portland, ND, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. A family graveside service will be held Friday, June 26, 2026, at Little Forks Cemetery, rural Hatton, ND.

Shirley Ann Beck was born February 19, 1940, to John and Minnie (Olson) Beck. She was baptized at Little Forks Lutheran Church and later confirmed at Mayville Lutheran Church. She attended grade school in rural Portland, ND, and graduated from Mayville High School, Class of 1957. After high school, Shirley attended Mayville State Teachers College for one year.

Shirley worked at Beck’s Café, Portland Credit Union, First and Farmers Bank, and MayPort Co-op, where she retired in March of 2000.

Survivors include her son, Greg (Amy) Beck, Dickinson, ND; grandson, Tucker Beck, South Heart, ND; granddaughter, Cassi Beck, Minot, ND; Shirley is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Clara Johnson, Blanche Amundson, and Nathalie Brustad; brothers: Marvin, Tilman, Carl, David, Thomas, Joseph, Ernest, Einar, Gilman, and John Jr. Beck.
