Sherri Beth Evanson

Sherri Evanson, age 64, passed away after a short illness on March 17^th, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital surrounded by family and friends in Minneapolis, MN.  Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 27^th at the Bilden Askew Funeral Home in Northwood, ND with visitation at 1pm and services at 2pm.

Sherri was born in Northwood, ND on October 24, 1959 to Eldred and Donna (Carlson) Evanson, the youngest of six children. She loved to joke that her parents “finally got it right” when she was born.  Sherri attended Northwood Public School and graduated high school in the class of 1977.  She went on to attend North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND.   After graduation, her work took her to the Minneapolis area where she made her home in Shakopee.    She was currently employed at DoAll Sawing Products in Savage, MN as an accounting clerk.  

Sherri’s life was filled with love for her animals, starting early growing up on the family farm.  She enjoyed her cat companions over the years, and recently was a dog sitter for her neighbors.  She enjoyed participating in all family activities involving her many nieces and nephews, trying not to miss anything important in their lives.  Holiday gatherings were fun trying to guess when the first “Kids are fighting” comment would be made as the chaos began!  Sherri loved to travel the world and country with her trips to Australia and Alaska ranking at the top. She collected Hard Rock Cafe Hurricane glasses as a souvenir from the places she traveled. Her enjoyment of many adventures was a highlight of her life.

Sherri is survived by her siblings, Sandra (Marshall) Tangen, Scott (Shawnee) Evanson, Steven (Teresa) Evanson, Shelly (Francis) Strohfus, Skip (Anna) Evanson, and many “favorite” nieces and nephews, as she often referred to herself as “favorite aunt”.

Sherri is preceded in death by her parents.
