Roland Pladson

Roland Pladson, 89, of Hatton, ND passed away May 20, 2022, in Pinal, Arizona. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Roland Pladson was born June 12, 1932, to Benjamin and Inga (Satrom) Pladson on the family farm, rural Hatton. He grew up near Hatton and attended Newburg #4 country school until the 8^th grade when he began helping on the farm.

Life was all about farming with Roland. From a young age until his retirement at age 72, Roland had a great knowledge of farming. He farmed in the Hatton area and had some of the highest yields around. Roland was also a great mechanic. He was always fixing things whether it be equipment on the farm or different things around the house.

If his later years, Roland moved to Arizona to live with his son, Eric. He enjoyed the warm Arizona climate and spending his remaining years with Eric.

Survivors include his son, Eric Pladson, Hatton, ND; brother, David Pladson, Mayville, ND; son-in-law, Dan Schaeffer, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Brittany Rambel, Kayley Schaeffer and Kaitlynn Schaeffer; great-grandchildren, Geneve and Lily.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Heidi Schaeffer; brothers, Amos (Mary Lou) Pladson and Joel (Gudrun) Pladson; and sister-in-law, Darlene Pladson.
