My deepest sympathy to the ruud family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Paul's passing. I found out via the Fall 2009 UND Alumni Review. I got to know Paul through the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Paul was a kind, humorous and fun person to be around. I remember I was short of cash one day and complained out loud... Paul walked over to me and wrote me a check for $1 million dollars and told not spend it all one place. Great guy! Again my sympathies to the all the ruud family. God Bless!

My condolences to you all. I am so glad I was able to make 2 trips back to Northwood about 2 years ago. I was able to see Paul again after a very long time. We talked about the huge Muskies and Northerns that are often caught up there. In my mind I can still see the huge fish mount he had in his office at Krabbenhoft's auto dealership. It looked ferocious! I am saddened to hear about Paul's passing. I had hoped that we would get to catch some of those big fish together someday. I have been thinking of you all a lot lately, and when I do finally catch a huge Musky or Pike I will be thinking of my cousin. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Alan Gotfred Ruud

My deepest sympathy to the Ruud family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Paul's passing. I met Paul at Boy's State in 1975 when we were both councilors. Paul was instrumental in my joining Sigma Chi at UND later that year. In fact, Paul was my big brother' during my time as a pledge. We lost track of each other over the years but I would hear about Paul once in a while from old college friends and I always meant to get reacquainted. I feel very sad that we never did but I do cherish many great memories of Paul during our college years and all the kindnesses and good humor he sent my way. Again, my deepest sympathy to all of Paul's friends and family.
