Olaf Nordbo

Olaf Nordbo, 92, of Northwood, ND passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Goose River Lutheran Church, rural Hatton, ND. A visitation will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Bilden-Askew Funeral Home in Northwood.

Olaf was born December 13, 1924 on the family farm in rural Hatton to Aslak and Sophia (Midboe) Nordbo. He grew up in the rural Hatton area, attended Clearbrook #5 Country School and graduated from Northwood High School. On June 21, 1968, Olaf married Yvonne Maurseth at Bethania Church, rural Northwood. Olaf farmed his whole life in the Northwood and Hatton Area. He also raised registered short horn cattle. Olaf enjoyed woodworking, attending craft shows with Yvonne and helping her with her ceramics. He also enjoyed bowling and hunting. Olaf was a lifelong member of Goose River Lutheran Church. He served on the Northwood Hospital and Nursing Home Board and numerous church boards.

Survivors include his step-daughters: Barbara (Karl) Carlson, Nevis, MN; Beverly (Richard) Kvamme, Park Rapids, MN; grandchildren: Karl (Stephanie) Carlson, Stephanie Hanson, John (Yulia) Kvamme, Andrea (Greg) Anderson, Brian (Anne) Kvamme; great-grandchildren: Riley and Breck Hanson; Kaleb, Kamree, Kennedy; Ivan and Mila Kvamme; Claire, Ben and Alexis Anderson; Will Kvamme; sister, Artha Travers, Grafton, ND; sister-in-law, Ardelle Nordbo, Fargo, ND; nephews, John Nordbo, Mark (Debbie) Korsmo, James Travers;
