Norma Maristuen

Norma Jane Maristuen, 86, of Northwood, ND, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Sanford Health Center, Fargo ND surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Norma was born May 24, 1932 in Northwood, ND to Noel and Norma (Evenson) Tornbom. She graduated from Northwood High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Dave Maristuen on March 21, 1953. Norma had various jobs in Northwood but the one she was best at was being a caregiver. Her kids and grandkids were always a priority and she was so proud of all their accomplishments. Church and its many activities were very important to her from making lefsa to bible study group. Dave and Norma took many fishing trips to Canada and Devils Lake with friends and family. She loved to attend sporting events and cheering on local talent. She even rode in the fan bus! Norma loved kids of all ages and always had Dum-Dum suckers to share with the little ones! She enjoyed the roundtable coffee group each day to be with friends and keep up with current events. Norma loved to cook and bake, always sharing new recipes and treats.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Offerdahl, Moorhead, MN; son, Jon (Patty) Maristuen, Williston, ND; grandchildren: Cory (Andrea) Offerdahl, Ryan (Allana) Offerdahl, Eric Offerdahl, Samantha (Brett) Brothers, McHale (Brooke) Maristuen, Greta (Andy) Kollbaum; great grandchildren: Ryder Offerdahl, Austyn Offerdahl, Turner Maristuen, Kira Maristuen, Carver Kollbaum; sisters, Bonnie Morrison, Reno, NV and Linda (George) Trowbridge, Medford, OR.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Dave and brother, Phillip Tornbom.
