Nancy Lyste

Nancy Lyste, 77, of Sharon, ND, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Hatton, ND. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton.

Nancy Mae Larson was born on August 11,1949 in Fargo, ND. She was adopted at 6 months old from an orphanage in Fargo, ND, by Oriel and Bernice (Ellefson) Larson. She graduated from Sharon High School in 1967. After high school, she attended NDSCS in Wahpeton.

On July 23, 1971, she married Curtis Lyste in Sharon, ND. They were married 53 years until Curtis’ death in 2024. They had 5 children and lived on the family farm outside of Sharon, ND, where they farmed together for 49 years.

Her faith was a very important part of her life, leading her to be active in the Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, including being organist for many years.

She also enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends, and trips to the casino with her family. She was known for making meals to bring out to the field, when she wasn’t in the combine.

She is survived by her children, Brian (Renee), Brent, Tim (Desirae), Melanie (Harley) Abrahamson, all of Finley, ND, four grandchildren, and three step grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Daniel (Jerolynn) Larson, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis, infant daughter, parents Oriel and Bernice Larson, and brother Tommy Larson.
