Milton Moore

February 11, 1930 — September 1, 2014

Milton Moore, 84, of Northwood, ND passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00am at Washington Lutheran Church, rural Northwood. A visitation will be held from 9:30am until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
Milton was born February 11, 1930 in Meyer Falls, WA to Milton Sr. and Iva Mae (Lemon) Moore. He grew to manhood in Weston, WI. Milton joined the US Army November 23, 1948 through June 25, 1952 and rejoined December 7, 1954 through November 18, 1957. On December 25, 1952, he married Delores Eva Sager. Milton retired from civil service at the Grand Forks Air Force Base in 1977.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting deer, squirrel, ducks, geese, collecting antique tractors, living in the country, being close to family and part of that was traveling frequently to Wisconsin to visit his brothers and sisters. Milton always had a hunting Labrador at his side. He enjoyed working for John Dean, a local farmer, during harvest over many seasons. Milton was a city councilman for Emerado, ND for many years. He was in charge of street maintenance and city police commissioner.
Survivors include his wife Delores; brother David (Som); son Roger (Chris); daughter Debra (Mark) Sivertson; grandchildren: Heather and Erik Eastling, Lorelei (Kevin Robinson), Michael (Candice Hanson) Moore, Justin (Jessica Ann) Sivertson, Mathew Sivertson; great-grandchildren: Camden, Rory, Gillian, and Easton Sivertson and Kaden Robinson.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers: Gerald, Jerome (Leslie), Eugene (Darlene); sisters: Geraldine, Lucille (Earl), Loretta (Reynolds [Red]), Ruby (Owen), Avis (Harry), and Luberta (George).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Washington Lutheran Church Elevator Fund.
