Mildred Reynolds

Mildred Reynolds, 91, of Northwood, North Dakota died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm, Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the Northwood Deaconess Health Center Chapel with burial in the West Union Lutheran Cemetery rural Northwood. Pastor Dean Lyste, officiated the service and music was cared for by Shelly Hagen, Soloist and Marian Savage, Organist.
Serving as Pallbearers were Mildred's Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Mildred Viola Hagen was born January 20, 1920 in Logan Center Township, rural Aneta, North Dakota the daughter of Henry and Olga (Jacobson) Hagen. She was baptized at West Union Lutheran Church and confirmed at Logan Lutheran Church near Logan Center. Mildred attended school at Logan Center and graduated from High School as Valedictorian in May of 1937. She entered the teaching profession around 1940 and taught at various schools including, Lehr, ND, McCanna, rural Larimore and Logan Center. Mildred then attended the Dakota Business College in the early 1950's. She began working as a secretary for Mutual of New York in Fargo and after moving to California continued with them for over twenty five years. On September 14, 1957 she was united in marriage to Richard Reynolds in Las Vegas. They enjoyed traveling and visited 48 of the 50 states. Richard passed away March 31, 2003 at Lancaster, California. In April of 2003 Mildred returned to Northwood and in November of 2005 entered the Northwood Deaconess Health Center.

Mildred loved to read and kept in touch with family members and friends by writing letters. She was a special Aunt to many of her nieces and nephews. She also had a great sense of humor.

She is survived by her brothers, Parnell of Walla Walla, Washington, Raymond of Beulah, North Dakota, Allen (Joyce) and Orville (Jean) both of Northwood, North Dakota and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard and sisters, Gladys Anfinson and Adeline Wiegandt.

The Bilden Funeral Home of Northwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
