Michael Green

Michael Melvin Green, 60, of Hatton, ND, gained eternal life on Friday, October 14th 2022. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Now wrapped in the arms of our Lord and Savior he is at peace, resting easy, moving and breathing freely. His love shines down on us now and forever. 

Michael was born July 22, 1962, in Bagley, MN and was raised in Fosston, MN. Being the youngest of seven children, he was full of mischief and full of love. He graduated high school from Fosston in 1981. After high school, Mike attended trade school. Mike dedicated 30 years delivering supplies for Praxair.  

On June 13th 1987, Michael was wed to Janet Ness in Hatton at St John Lutheran Church. He gained three children through their marriage. He loved all his family near and far whole heartedly.Mike had a great love and passion for life. He somehow found a way to poke fun and tease who ever he crossed paths with, stranger or not. He could be so convincing at times even the wisest would believe his tall tale stories. Mike enjoyed fishing, camping, and four-wheeling. He shared his joy and passion for life with all who surrounded him. Mike was most proud of his great grandkids and all the time he spent with them.

A true inspiration, Mike thanked the Lord for every day he was given, even on his worst days he never complained. He had a profound faith in the Lord and loved witnessing to others God’s glory. Mike is rejoicing in heaven with peace and excitement of his eternal life. Looking down on all of us now, he would want to be remembered by tears of laughter and not tears of sorrow.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; son, Chad (Lori) Verke; daughters, Jennifer Abel and Jill (Phil) Kurtz; grandchildren: Lexy (Jason) Bradshaw, Karlee, Kinley, Keith, Kyle, Morgan, Ryan, Kale, Cadence; great-grandchildren: Charlie, Jence, Stella, and Weston; siblings: Val (Jim) Sears, Bonnie (Kevin) Olson, Vicki (John) Cymbaluk, Pam Kerssen, Marcy (Chad) Winter and Steve (Cindy) Green.

Preceding him in death was his father, Harold and mother, his ever so special angel, Irene Green.
