Coach Larson had an enormous impact on my life. He persisted in getting me to try a workout with the cross country team back in ~1973, which led to me joining the team and began 48 years of running. He was ahead of his time in his level of knowledge and was a great coach. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Larson (Mark)'s death. He was my first cross country coach at Red River--and my favorite coach ever. He did not talk too much but was very smart and always had a ready smile. I still remember him driving his big car out to the 1/2 way point of our long runs to make sure no one was hurt, everyone made the run, etc. He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
