Marge grew up in Hatton, ND, in a farming family and graduated from Hatton High School, where she was honored as the school’s first homecoming queen. On June 30th, 1962, she married the love of her life, Duane Foss. Their married life began in Moorhead, MN, with chapters in Mayville, ND, and Denver, CO, before returning to Hatton to make their home on the Wambheim family farm. It was there they rooted their days—and their home—in love, laughter, and memories that grew as abundantly as the fields around them.
Marge worked in banking and was known for her warmth and dedication to serving others. Beyond her career, she had many passions that filled her life with joy. She was an avid reader, quilter, and a lifelong, active member of St. John Lutheran Church. She cherished time spent with friends over coffee, cards, and conversation, and she deeply valued the community and relationships she nurtured throughout her life.
Family was always at the center of Marge’s heart. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Duane; daughters Deborah (Debbie) (Ross) Halvorson and Nancy (David) Pederson; and her beloved grandchildren Megan (Dustin) Dalbey, Kyle (Jennifer) Pederson, Jace (Madison) Pederson, Tanner Halvorson, and Rachel (Bryce) Moen, as well as five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marian Bangs; and brothers Glen and Ivan Wambheim.
Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness, laughter, and the warmth she so freely shared. Marge’s life was a reflection of her love for family, friends, and simple joys, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
