Marjorie Clayton

Marjorie “Marge” Clayton, 78, of Northwood, ND and formerly of Reynolds, ND, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood with her family by her side.

Marjorie Marie Krell was born January 21, 1945 to Ed and Alvina Krell in Lakota, ND. She attended school in Grand Forks, ND. Marge married Ron Clayton July 16, 1963. They made their home in Grand Forks and later welcomed sons Scott and Troy. Marge was a homemaker and a loving mother to her boys, their extended family, and all of the neighborhood children. She loved gardening, canning, reading, and entertaining family and friends. Christmas was her favorite time of the year.

The family moved to the farm in 1978. Ron and Marge’s garage was the meeting place for happy hour for friends. Some nights it would lead to playing music and singing in the garage. Ron and Marge hosted an annual corn feed party for 20+ years for family and friends.

Marge worked as a receptionist at Fritz Nelson in Grand Forks for 30+ years.

She and Ron moved into Northwood in August, 2018.

Marge is survived by Ron, her loving husband of 60 years; sons Scott (Charlotte) and Troy (Karre); sisters-in-law Louise Clayton and Darlene (Tom) Adam; brother-in-law Glen (Jean) Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Melvin, Dan (Kay), and Patricia; and brother-in-law Lyle Clayton.

A Celebration of Marge’s Life will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bilden-Askew Funeral Home in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
