Louise Ostlie

Louise Ostlie, 76, of Northwood, ND, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Louise Sharon Johnson was born on September 3, 1948, in Northwood, ND, to Ernie and Kathleen (Knudson) Johnson. She grew up in Northwood and graduated high school in 1966. She then went on to attend Aakers Business College. On December 7, 1968, she married Darryl Ostlie in Northwood, ND. She raised four children and was a devoted wife for 47 years. She also spent time working in the kitchen at the Northwood School and the Northwood nursing home as a dietary aide. Over the years, she enjoyed golfing and bowling. Louise was a very proud grandma and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s many activities. In her spare time, she liked to read books, play Bingo, and visit with her friends.

Louise is survived by her son Scott (Stephanie) Ostlie, Northwood, ND, and their children Jacob Ostlie, Elizabeth (Lucas) Mohn, Lincoln (Ashtyn Oie) Ostlie, and Kennedy Ostlie; her daughter Lori (Chad) Verke, Hatton, ND, and their children Keith (Sady Kjorven) Verke, Kyle (Isabell Hermanson) Verke, Morgan Verke and Ryan Verke; her daughter Stacy (Erick) Brekke, Fargo, ND, and their children Karsen, Logan and Paige Brekke; her daughter Nancy (Zach) Noreen, Horace, ND, and their son Colton Noreen; great-grandchildren Weston Verke, Wrenley and Scottie Mohn. She is also survived by her sisters Marilyn (Lee) Gronhovd, Karen (Lyle) Ness, Renee Johnson, her brother Richard (Karen) Johnson, and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Darryl; parents Ernie and Kate Johnson; in-laws Clifford and Ellen Ostlie; brother-in-law Richard Johnson; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
