Lisa Marie Henke was born May 4, 1984, in Northwood, ND daughter of John and LuAnn (Shedd) Franzen. She grew up in rural Lakota helping on the farm and never shying away from hard work. Lisa also worked at the Cenex in Michigan before graduating from Dakota Prairie High School in 2002. After high school, she attended UND briefly and then attended Northland Community and Technical College finishing with an associate’s degree. She was hired as a medical coder for Altru and later being upgraded to a reimbursement analyst still within Altru. She was blessed with great coworkers, many of which are still great friends today. During her travels Lisa met her future husband, Matt Henke. Lisa and Matt were married on July 27, 2007. In late 2010, Lisa was blessed with the greatest gift of all. Kendra Marie Henke was born Nov. 15, 2010. She would be blessed again with the greatest gift coming 2 days short of two years. Keaton Matthew Henke was born Nov. 13, 2012. Lisa was an amazing mom, especially extending to her late sister’s son Nicholas, all her nephews, her niece and a very special family she adopted as her own. Lisa was a very compassionate person, led with her heart, and lived life to the fullest every day. Lisa was a fun lover!!! Days spent on trips to Medora, the Minot Zoo and attending volleyball games, baseball games, hockey games, high school plays, music concerts, dance recitals, wrestling matches, birthdays, grand marches, graduations, and skating competitions, she would be there. Lisa’s compassion, love and willingness to give was unmatched and never-ending. Lisa was able to keep her love and compassion going by, being an organ donor. Not only did she give a better life to 3 people we know of for sure, but she was also able to donate many other organs and tissue for medical research and other applications at the very prestigious Mayo Clinic. These are tributes that will live on forever. To be the 1% that can give all of themselves, it just adds to the greatness, compassion, love and legacy of the life she lived. Lisa was a FUN LOVER, living every day to the fullest no matter who you meet or where you are!
