Larry Flaten

Larry Flaten, 70, of Hatton, ND, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Sanford Hospital in Mayville, ND. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Bilden-Askew Funeral Home in Northwood.

Larry E. Flaten was born May 8, 1949 to the late Hilmen and Ella (Nyhus) Flaten in Mayville, ND. He was baptized on June 12, 1949 at Little Forks Church, rural Hatton and confirmed on November 1, 1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN. Larry graduated from Pershing High School in Plummer in 1967.

Larry was an over the road trucker and worked on a farm. He also worked for Denny Gabriel Construction and the Hatton Coop Oil Company.

On November 9, 1978, Larry married Joann Huus in Sisseton, SD. Larry enjoyed his garden, being outside, working with anything mechanical, and spending time out at the farm.

Survivors include his siblings: Irene Teigland, East Grand Forks, MN; Karen Amundson, Portland, ND; David Flaten, Hatton, ND; Dale (Brittani) Flaten, Portland, ND; sister-in-law, Carol Groven, Hatton, ND; brother in laws: Gerald (Mary) Huus, West Fargo, ND, and Rodney Huus, Grand Forks, ND; Larry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all of whom loved and adored Uncle Larry.
