Judith Mehus

Judith Mehus, 94, of Hatton, ND passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 at 1:30pm at the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton. A visitation will be held from 12:30pm until the time of the service at the nursing home.

Judith Alvira Anderson was born June 13, 1920 in rural Northwood, the daughter of John and Annie Anderson. She worked on the family farm and worked for the Mutchler family near Northwood for many years. On December 9, 1942, Judith married Gunder Mehus. They made their home on a farm near Hatton. Judith and Gunder were married 55 years before his death in 1997. They raised three children: Earleen, Jeroy, and Dwayne.
Judith enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, quilting, cooking, baking. She also enjoyed listening to country music and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Judith enjoyed her many cats on the farm. Each one had a name. She had a favorite horse while growing up on the family farm. Her favorite color was green.

Survivors include her sons: Jeroy (Debbie) and Dwayne; son-in-law, Steven Sander, ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Gunder, daughter Earleen Sander, sisters: Edith Olson, Helen Lillemoen, Doris Lyste; and nephew David Olson.
