Jeanette was born December 6, 1920 in Beaver Creek Township, the daughter of Clifford and Julia (Bjerke) Holmen. She was raised and educated in Beaver Creek township.
Jeanette married Orvin Foss on December 9, 1941 at Portland, ND. Soon after their marriage, while Orvin served in World War II, Jeanette worked in Fargo, ND. Following the war, they lived at their farm near Finley, ND, until they moved to Bismarck, ND in 1970.
Jeanette was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church and later a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck. She loved visiting with her family and good friends in Golden Lake township.
Jeanette worked hard at making the farm beautiful, painting buildings, landscaping, and of course, cleaning. She loved dancing to old time and country music. She also liked to crochet, knit, and bake pastries. The Hostfest in Minot was her favorite destination.
Being a grandma to her only grandson Patrick and later his family, was her greatest passion
Jeanette will be deeply missed by her daughter Jennifer Egan, Wilton, ND; grandson Patrick and his wife Sandra and their children, Ozzie and Sith; her sisters: Eleanore (Kermit) Vigen and Merle (Raymo) Mehus and her beloved nieces, nephews, and their families.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Orvin, son-in-law John Egan, brothers: Orville, Tennes, and Norris; and her brothers and sisters in law.
Jennifer, I was so sorry to read of the loss of your mother. My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Your 2nd grade friend, Carol Berg
