Jean Kleveland

Jean Kleveland, 78, of Hatton, North Dakota died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 15, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton with burial in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday at the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service and one hour prior to services in the church.

Jean Phyllis Kelm was born February 23, 1930 in Mayville, North Dakota the daughter of William and Ada (Gjervold) Kelm. She attended grade school in Grand Forks, North Dakota and graduated from Mayville High School. On April 2, 1950 she was united in marriage to Donald Kleveland. They made their home in Mayville until moving to Hatton in 1951. Jean worked at area grocery stores, Hatton Plextile Co. and the Hatton School. Mr. Kleveland died October 27, 1997. She was currently living in the Hatton Prairie Village for the last two years.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and their WELCA. Jean loved to play cards and bingo.

Jean is survived by her sons, David (Jane) of Buxton, North Dakota and Dana (Kristina) of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; daughters, Pat (Harlan) Pladson of Hatton, North Dakota and Mary Beth of Stanley, North Dakota; grandchildren, Jason, Kara, Chris, Cory, Bethany, Kjersten and Lukas; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Avis Gjervold of Fargo, North Dakota, Marilynn Kelm of Atlanta, Georgia, Else Peik of Mayville, North Dakota and Dolly (Brad) Lantz of Alexandria, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and brothers, Arden Gjervold and James Kelm.

The Bilden Funeral Home of Hatton is assisting the family with arrangements.
