Jean Bye

Jean (Trueblood) Bye, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

A funeral service will be held Friday, October 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton, ND. A visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton.

Jean was born on July 3, 1948, to James and Irene (Hanson)Trueblood. She grew up in Garrison, ND and graduated from Garrison High School in 1966. She continued her education at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

After earning her degree, she moved to Fargo and started her nursing career at St. Luke’s Hospital. She worked briefly as a cardiac care nurse before transitioning to the emergency room where she eventually became an ER charge nurse.

On May 23, 1981, she married John Bye at Hope Lutheran Church in Fargo. Together they had 2 children. She was an avid sewer, a wonderful cook and a devout Lutheran.

She is survived by her husband John, daughter Kari (Ben) Saad, and son Christian Bye, and grandchildren Lena and Eli.
