Irene E. Spitzer

Irene Emma Spitzer, 69, Northwood, ND passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Deaconess Health Center at Northwood surrounded by loving family and friends.

Irene was born July 22, l939 at Karlsruhe, Germany the daughter of the late Adolph and Freda (Braun) Flamm. She attended school and grew to womanhood in Germany. She married Reed Spitzer On June 23, 1963 in Columbia, South Carolina. With Reed serving in the military the couple lived in various states retiring to the Hatton community in l970. He died in l996 and Irene moved to Northwood in l998. She had worked many years in the Dietary Department at the Deaconess Health Center in Northwood

Irene is survived by one step-son Randy (JoAnn) Spitzer, Grand Forks, ND one step-daughter Suzi (Gary) Riley, Payson, Arizona, grandchildren Angie Baratto, Danika Spitzer, Jaime Holmes, Lacey Riley, Armanda and Samantha Spitzer and great grandchildren Samantha Jo and Sawyer Baratto and Skye Holmes.

She was preceded in death by her husband Reed M. Spitzer in 1996 and son Richard Spitzer, July of 2008.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at l:00 P.M. at the Bilden Funeral Home, Northwood.

Interment will be in the Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.

In Lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Deaconess Health Center at Northwood, ND.

The Bilden Funeral Home of Northwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
