Henry Sebekow

Henry "Hank" Sebekow, 83, of Northwood died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Swarstad Chapel in Northwood with burial in Northwood City Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday at the Bilden Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service and one hour prior to services.

Hank was born September 8, 1926 in Medina, North Dakota the son of Fred and Elizabeth (Enzminger) Sebekow. In the 1950's and 1960's, he was employed with Hogenson Construction building grain elevators.
He married Virgie Tangen and they had a son, David. After many years of traveling in the construction trade, he settled in the Northwood area to be near his son. During the last several years of his life, he lived in the Manor Apartments in Northwood and was an active member of the Senior Center. He loved helping people in small ways, plowing driveways, mowing lawns, even going up on roofs and shingling into his eighties.
The greatest joy in his life were his three grandchildren, show off pictures of them whenever he got the chance.

Left to mourn his passing are his son, David (Virginia) Sebekow of Chanhassen, Minnesota; grandchildren, Julia, Maria and Alex' three nieces, two nephews and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herman, Albert, Edwin and Harold and sisters, Martha, Emma, Esther and Lena.

The Bilden Funeral Home of Northwood is assisting family with arrangements.
