Henry "Hank" E. Thompson

Henry Earl “Hank” Thompson, 80, of Hatton, ND, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Hatton. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the service at the church.

Hank was born September 28, 1942, in Akron, OH, to Henry and Dorothy Bender. He attended Lake High School in Akron and went into the Air Force. He was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi and Finley, ND, where he met Lola Thompson. They were married February 16, 1963. They moved to Akron, where he worked for Goodyear Tire Plant for 13 years. Hank and Lola moved to Hatton, ND, where he worked for Hatton Co-op Oil until he retired in 2008. Hank enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Thompson; children: Tammy (Anthony) Tate, Warner Robbins, GA; Thomas (Barb) Thompson, Blaine, MN; Tracy Thompson, Hatton, ND; grandchildren: Alyssa Tate, Jessica (Matt) Hortman, Benjamin (Aubrey) Thompson, Dylan (Sofia Santana) Thompson; great-grandchildren: Bella, Sammy, and Lilly Hortman; two brothers: Lynn (Debbie) Thompson and Herb (Gloria)Thompson Jr.

Preceding him in death were his parents; stepmother, Norma Thompson; and stepfather, Herbert Thompson.
