Henry Case

Henry (Hank) Case, age 88, a longtime resident of Northwood, ND, passed away May 17, 2023 in his home in North Smithfield, RI, where he resided with his youngest daughter Julie and her family. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial with military honors will be held in the Northwood Cemetery.

Henry was born on July 2, 1934 in Freeport, Long Island, New York. He attended Freeport public schools and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951 and served until 1959. He served in Korea, Philippines, and Illinois; then finally Minot, ND where he met Alice L Gavett, they were married on November 11, 1956. They lived in New York and California before settling in Surrey, ND with their four children in 1973. Alice passed away in December 2000. Henry then met and married Kay (Williams) Thompson of Northwood, ND on July 2, 2001. Kay passed away in November 2020. Henry was actively involved with his church, Lions Club, VFW and American Legion and was instrumental in the development and maintenance of the war memorial in Northwood. He loved wood working, gardening, playing his guitar and drums, watching old westerns and found peace in reading his devotions.

Henry is survived by daughter Candis Qachbal and husband Mo, Tampa FL, son Patrick and wife Kelli, Northwood, ND, daughter Sue Tolton and husband Steve, Minot, ND, daughter Julie Doire and husband Rick, North Smithfield, RI and hordes of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Alice, wife Kay, grandson Travis and grandson (in-law) Bill.
