Gida A. Berg

Gida Berg passed away on October 3, 2026, at Mayville Hospital at the age of 91.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 9, 2026, at 10:00 am at Hatton Prairie Village, 950 Dakota Ave, Hatton, ND 58240. Following cremation, a private interment of the ashes will take place at Goose River Cemetery. 

Gida was the only child of Alfred and Gustava Berg. She was born July 19,1935. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at

Goose River Lutheran Church. She graduated from Hatton High School a year early and attended one year at Mayville State University in Mayville, ND.

Gida worked side by side on the family farm with her parents. She dedicated time to her church (Goose River Lutheran) as Treasurer and Organist for over 25 years. She became a CNA and traveled to multiple sites to give care to others, until she retired at theage of 75.

She loved to travel, paint, do crosswords,and spend time with her favorite love, her kitties. Gida never married nor had any children.

She leaves behind many cousins and close friends. Gida will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Gida's memory to the Goose River Cemetery Fund or the ASPCA.
