Eric Camperud, 61, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, at his home in Grand Forks. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Free Lutheran Church in Northwood, ND. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Eric Camperud was born November 5, 1964, in St. Paul, MN, to Michael and Mary (Dauphinais) Camperud. He grew up and attended school in Northwood.
On September 29, 2000, Eric married Debra, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. In December 2000, they purchased their first home together, where they made countless memories over the years.
Eric loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Some of his favorite pastimes included camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time at the lake, especially floating with his grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Gospel Outreach Church in Grand Forks and also attended Living Word Family Church. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus with others.
Eric began his career working with his father, Michael Camperud. He later began his trucking career with Gabriel Construction before moving to Travis Johnson. He then worked for Overhead Door for many years before purchasing and operating Grand Forks Door. Eric eventually returned to Overhead Door as District Manager before ending his career as an independent driver for Korsmo Trucking. He retired in 2024 due to cancer.
Eric is survived by his wife, Debra Camperud, Grand Forks, ND; stepchildren, whom he loved as his own, Jeremy Sierra, Moose Lake, MN; Jennifer (Nate) Erickson, Grand Forks; Amber (Raymond) King, Texas; and Amanda (Cody Lind) Knight, Grand Forks; seven grandchildren; sisters, Cyndi (Marlo) Hannestad, Northwood, ND; and Jakk (Leif) Knutson, Edina, MN.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Camperud; infant sister, Anna Stacie; and niece, Alison Marie Hannestad.
