Donna Meyers, 93, of Northwood, ND passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Ebenezer Lurtheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Bilden-Askew Funeral Home in Northwood.
Donna Nelson was born May 19, 1924 to Henry and Pearl (Tolan) Nelson. She grew up near Hatton along with her 5 sisters and 4 brothers. She graduated from Hatton High School. After high school, Donna married James Hanson. They worked together on their farm, raising turkeys, potatoes, grains and beans. Together, they raised their three sons. After James death, she married Aloyus Meyers.
Donna enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite trips was when she and Al traveled to Africa. She liked golf, bridge, reading, working with her flowers and visiting her friends.
Survivors include her children: Larry (Renee) Hanson, Hatton, ND; James (Susan) Hanson, Stillwater, MN; stepdaughters: Gaynelle Rydland, Grand Forks, ND; Diane Peterson, Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren: Shawn, Chad, Jill, Jeni, Jim, Heidi, John, Heather, Jenna and Taylor; step-grandchildren, Garth and Malena; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Della (Jerry) Tufte, Northwood, ND; brother, Darrell (Jeanne) Nelson, Santa Paula, CA.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, son, Leland; step son-in-law, Mike Rydland; and siblings: Muriel, Helen, Patty, Kathy, Richard, Howard and Keith.
