Donna Knudsvig

Donna Mae Knudsvig, age 85, of Grand Forks, ND, and formerly of Northwood, ND, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood, ND. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Tangen, Jonathan Tangen, Timothy Evanson, Anthony Strohfus, Cody Evanson, and Brandon Cottrell.

Donna Mae Carlson was born to Gust and Myrtle Carlson on March 13,1931, at Northwood, ND. She graduated from Northwood High School in 1949. She then attended Mayville State College and received her teacher's certificate. She taught at country schools.

Donna was united in marriage to Eldred Evanson in January 1951. The couple lived and farmed north of Northwood. Eldred passed away in April 1974.

Donna was employed at NDHC in the dietary department for several years.

Donna was united in marriage to Martin Knudsvig on November 21, 1980. They lived in Northwood until the tornado relocated them to Grand Forks, ND. Donna dealt with Parkinson's disease and entered Valley Eldercare 1 year ago.

Things she enjoyed were spending time with family and friends. Donna loved her time spent on the dance floor and her Monday afternoon bowling league. Everyone benefited from her love of cooking and baking.

Survivors include her husband Martin Knudsvig, Grand Forks, ND. Her six children, Sandra (Marshall) Tangen, Hickson, ND, Scott (Shawnee) Evanson, Northwood, ND, Steve (Teresa) Evanson, Thompson, ND, Shelly (Francis) Strohfus, Henry, SD, Stuart-Skip, (Anna) Evanson, West Fargo, ND, and Sherrie Evanson, Shakopee, MN; fourteen grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Surviving sisters include Marge McMahon, Northwood, ND, Fern (James) Virden, Grand Forks, ND, Patsy Bjoralt, Northwood, ND; brother Toby Carlson, Grand Forks, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Eldred, sister Mendora, and three brothers Floyd, Gorman, and Fred.
