Don Olson

Don Olson, 75, formerly of Sharon, ND passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton, ND. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 2:00p.m. at Ostervold Lutheran Church, rural Finley, ND. A visitation will be held Monday, September 22, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:00pm with a 7:00pm prayer service at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton.

Don Olson was born January 3, 1939 to Melvin and Agnes (Mickelson) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed in Ostervold Lutheran Church, rural Finley, ND. Don attended school in Sharon and then on to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He enlisted in the Air Force from 1962 - 1967, serving in Japan. After his discharge, Don remained in California and was employed by IBM of San Francisco for 23 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Fairfield, CA.

Don had a love for gardening. After returning to the Finley-Sharon area, he specialized in growing asparagus. He had a "lifelong" passion for baseball and loved to talk about it.

Survivors include his brother, David (Marilynn), Hickory, NC; and many cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Melvin and Agnes Olson.
