Diane Peterson

Diane Peterson, 68, of Northwood, ND passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2:00p.m at Community Bible Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m with a 7:00p.m prayer service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Northwood Deaconess Health Center, P.O. Box 190, Northwood, ND 58267.
Diane Holden was born October 10, 1946 to Peter and Alice (Elton) Holden in Valley City, ND. She grew up and attended school in Valley City. On August 19, 1965, Diane married Wayne "Pete" Peterson in Valley City. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 19, 2015. In 1968, Diane and Pete moved to Fargo. Ever since Diane was young all she ever wanted to be was a Mom. One of her proudest moments in her life was when she and Pete had their three boys: Chris, Duane and John. She worked at Woolworths in Fargo for a short time before starting her own daycare. After the boys were bigger, Diane started working at Camelot Cleaners. In 1993, Pete and Diane moved to Northwood, where they owned and managed the Brass Rail Bar and Grill. She served many of the BEST home cooked meals at the Brass Rail. Diane enjoyed writing, especially weekly racing articles. She also enjoyed music, playing guitar, piano, and taking pictures and videos. Diane loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and family through Facebook and really enjoyed everyone she met. Diane loved spending time at the lake with her lake family and racing with her racing family.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne "Pete" Peterson, Northwood, ND; sons: Chris Peterson, Fargo, ND; Duane (Susan) Peterson, Glyndon, MN; John (Jackie) Peterson, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Cody Peterson, Maggie Peterson and Tanner Peterson; sisters: Sandra Hutton, Valley City, ND; Susan (Bob) Amundson, Williston, ND; Loretta Holden, Valley City, ND. Diane is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her father, Peter; mother, Alice; step-father, Shorty; sister, Anita; brother, Rick; and nephew, Kyle.
