David Beine

David Beine, 56, of Northwood, ND passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Holmes United Methodist Church, rural Reynolds, ND. One of Dave’s favorite things was NDSU Bison football. The family would like attendees to wear green or gold. Go Bison!

David was born October 9, 1961 to James and Olive Beine in Grand Forks, ND. He grew up in rural Thompson in the Holmes community. He attended school in Northwood, ND and graduated in 1979. There, David met the love of his life, Patti Schwartz. They were married June 25, 1983 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Northwood. Together they have three children: Nikki, Tasha, and Jon.

Dave farmed with his dad and uncle, Dale for many years on the Beine Farm until 1997. After that, he worked for farmer, Kent Gronlie, the Stadter Center as head maintenance, and lastly farmed with his friend, Kevin Hovland.

Dave was a member of the Holmes United Methodist Church in rural Reynolds. He loved playing softball for the Holmes ball club with all of his Holmes brothers. Dave was an usher and prepared communion for many years. He loved his church family and friends.

David loved nothing more in the world than his family and spent as much time with them as he could. His two granddaughters, McKinley and Madalynn, were the light of his life. Dave’s joys in life were playing games, going on walks, picking asparagus on our farm trails, gopher hunting with sons-in-law, his dogs, laughing, and The Bison.

David is survived by his wife, Patti Beine; children: Nikki (Josh) Nelson, Tasha Beine (Brian Baumtrog), and Jon Beine; grandchildren, McKinley and Madalynn Nelson; uncles, Keith (Alice) Beine and Dale (Shirley) Beine; and aunt Gaynelle Rydland; mother- in-law, Nancy Schwartz; brothers-in-law: Doug (Debbie) Schwartz, Mike (Tina) Schwartz, and Matt Schwartz (Tanya Wolfe); along with his cousins, nieces, nephews, and a brother. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Olive Beine, grandparents, Louis and Ruth Beine and Marvin and Ida Rydland, aunt and uncles Mardell and Warren Nienas and Mike Rydland, along with father-in-law, Jack Schwartz.
