Cheryl Ellingson

Cheryl Ellingson, 85, of Northwood, ND, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, at Edgewood Vista in Fargo, ND. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bilden-Askew Funeral Home in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Cheryl Feist was born April 26, 1938, to Michael and Doris (Cowell) Feist of Grand Forks. Her father died in 1941. She moved to Northwood in 1946 when her mother married Paul Johnson. She grew up on the farm west of Northwood and graduated from Northwood High School in 1956. She met Benny Ellingson of Northwood and they were married on June 30, 1956. They made their home in Northwood. Cheryl enjoyed many things such as getting visits from her many grandchildren, taking care of her yard, doing puzzles, and traveling. She moved to Edgewood Vista in Fargo in the fall of 2022, where she resided until her death.

She is survived by her children; Jeff (Suzanne) Ellingson and Cheri (Rob) Mynheir, both of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Shannon Ellingson, Brighton, CO; Meghan (Brian) Larson, Moorhead, MN; Jason (Annie) Mynheir, West Fargo, ND; and Kelly Kraft, Horace, ND; great-grandchildren: Michaela Fossen, Buxton, ND; Paige Larson, Gilby, ND; Daisy Ellingson, Moorhead, MN; Sofie Winterland, Brighton, CO; Chloe Buchholz, Horace, ND; and Kamrin Kraft, Horace, ND; great-great-grandchildren: Nolan and Knox Mackley, Bowen Simonson, and Lana Larson. Cheryl is also survived by her sisters, Marilyn Fuchs and Arla (Dennis) Frigstad.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Michael Feist and Doris H. Johnson; step-father, Paul Johnson; husband, Benny Ellingson; and grandson, Jesse Ellingson.
