Carol Locken

On Sunday July 3, 2022, Carol Locken, loving sister, mother and grandmother unexpectedly passed away at age 72. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Bilden-Askew Funeral Home in Northwood, ND. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Carol was born on December 21, 1949, in Minneapolis, MN to James and Bernice (Uglem) Reavis. She received her teaching degree from Mayville State University in 1970. She enjoyed teaching elementary school children for over 40 years. Carol had a passion for teaching and helping others.  She raised three sons to be smart, strong, and brave men, that were loved by their mother.

Carol was preceded in death by her father James and mother Bernice. Carol will be greatly missed by her son Chris, his wife Darcy, granddaughter Elizabeth, grandson James, her son Scott, her son Dean, granddaughter Kaileigh, her brother, John, and several cousins. 

Memorials are preferred to West Union Cemetery, P.O. Box 420, Northwood, ND 58267.

Journey

Life is a journey from beginning to end.

As we crawl around enormous objects,

our family is there to protect us.

As we run ahead into the valleys,

Our family and friends are there to help us.

Their guidance enables us to

climb the highest peaks of the

Surrounding mountains.

As we walk, we share our knowledge

And love to the ones that are crawling,

Running, and walking behind us.

As our pace slows, we look back to

See all the beauty that we have

Touched and continue to share with

Everyone in our lives.

We then thank the Lord for traveling

Alongside us throughout our first

Journey as he carries us into the second.
