Byron Holt

Byron Clark Holt, 69, of Hatton, ND, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Hatton, ND. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Bilden Funeral Home, Hatton, ND. Inurnment in the St. John Cemetery Columbarium.
Byron Holt was born July 25th, 1942, at Mayville, ND, to Henry and Ella (Sonstegaard) Holt. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1960, and attended one year at Mayville State. Byron was a member of the North Dakota Air National Guard. On May 6, 1967, he married Eileen Dickhoff at Hillsboro, ND. He was a self-employed grain dealer, owned and operated Hatton Hardware Hank for 32 years before retiring in 2006 and was a three year chief and lifetime member of the Hatton Fire Department.
Byron is survived by his wife Eileen; daughter: Nicole (Joseph) Ternus, Hugo, MN; grandchildren: Taylor Schmidt and Abigail Ternus; sisters: Delores Lande, Donna (Lowell) Lande,both of Mayville, ND, Beverly Kuntz, Billings, MT; brothers: Allan(Joanne) Holt, West Fargo, ND, Linden Holt, Richard (Marlys) Holt, and Dale (Beverly) Holt, all of Mayville, ND, two brother-in-laws, 3 sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters: Hazel Idso, Lorraine Holt, and Eleanor Soholt, and brother: Darroll Holt.
