Alfred Antonson

Alfred Antonson, 96, of Northwood, ND passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Ebenezer Free Lutheran Church in Northwood. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Alfred Antonson was born September 14, 1921 at Aneta, ND to Peter and Marit (Johnson) Antonson. He was baptized and confirmed at Norway Lutheran Church, rural Aneta. He attended rural school at Pilot Mound Township in Griggs County. On April 6, 1946, Alfred married Melba Rose Torgerson at St. Paul, MN.

Alfred served in the Civilian Conservation Corp from 1937-1938. He served in the European Theater during World War II from 1942-1945. After the service, he farmed near Sharon, ND until 1965. Alfred was employed at Uglem Ness Implement until 1985.

Alfred was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Northwood American Legion and a Charter Member of Northwood Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Melba; sons: Dale (Terry), Charles (Debra), Wayne (Corrine), Peter (Mary); 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and sister, Ruth Johnson.
