Tammy Huus Westmoreland

Tammy Lynn (Huus) Westmoreland, 40, of Hatton, ND, was carried home on Wednesday November 2, 2011 surrounded by her loved ones, at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Johns Lutheran Church, Hatton, North Dakota. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 6th from 3 to 5 p.m. with a 5 p.m. prayer service at the church. Burial in the St. Johns Cemetery, Hatton. Tammy was born on October 18, 1971 to Donald and Patricia (Gensrich) Huus in Northwood, ND. She was the fourth out of five children. She attended Hatton High School and graduated in 1990. After graduation Tammy went to New Jersey to be a nanny for one year, and she then returned back to North Dakota (because her family is so dang cool). Tammy worked as a CNA at the Hatton Prairie Village and Northwood Deaconess Health Center for many years, until she was diagnosed with cancer. Tammy touched the lives of many residents and co-workers, she was always thinking of new ways to put a smile on the resident’s faces. Tammy loved helping and caring for others. On August 10, 1996 she was united in marriage to Jody Westmoreland in Hatton, North Dakota. Together they had two beautiful girls, Bailey and Skylar, whom she absolutely adored. Bailey and Skylar were the light of Tammy’s life. Tammy’s girls meant the world to her and she would have done anything for them. Tammy enjoyed: HALLOWEEN, playing softball, shopping, cooking; her specialty was fettuccine, watching her nieces & nephews in sports, playing music trivia, gardening, going to auction sales & rummage sales, animals, movies, writing, spending time with family & friends, but most of all she enjoyed being around her girls. Tammy has fought long and hard for the past 11 years to overcome cancer and all of the struggles that have come along with it. Throughout everything Tammy had an uplifting positive attitude and never once gave up. Tammy was the bravest and strongest person the family has ever known. She will be forever missed and will be in our hearts forever. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt. She was survived by her daughters, Bailey & Skylar; Parents Donny & Patti Huus, Hatton, ND; siblings Curtis (Barb) Huus, John (Michelle) Huus, Kim (Jay) Ostlie, all of Hatton, ND; Corey (Katie) Huus, Northwood, ND; nieces & nephews Stephanie, Sara, Tiffany, Jessica, Spencer, Little John, Cody, McKenzie & Andrew; great nephew and nieces, Brody, Layken & Tenley.
